Completely admissible! Be certain that your probe would go ahead of this point. Your further curiosity in this write-up would be an added leverage for you.

Spend time with your child: Remember quality is more important than quantity. Even if you spend just 30 minutes with your child one on one — playing games, taking walks, having long bedtime chats, or just snuggling in front of the TV, spending time with your child shows them that you value their company.

Cell Phones for Kids - How Young is Too Young?

 by: Barry Nagassar

What is your belief about the utility of this piece of information?

This excerpt is an embellishment for those persons who were on the lookout of Understanding Addiction. It was ineffective for few readers.

As a connoisseur who is all hot for Understanding Addiction, only you can rather find out if this helps. The basic point is to reach at the hindmost word to scan the contents.

Take a random tween, age 8-12, place them in front of a rotary phone and observe at the blank stare of bewilderment. Yes, gone are the days of the landline, pushed aside by the next wave of technological advancement. Mobile phones are fast displacing landlines in many homes; accompanying this movement is the fact kids regularly use and know how to use these cell phones. The mobility of cell phones means you can be anywhere and have the necessity, or should I say the convenience, of a phone.

Cellular service providers and manufacturers would enjoy nothing more than exploiting the vastly untapped tween market. However, is it necessary to provide cell phones to kids age 8-12? What makes it necessary today? Is the simple the notion of having the technology enough reason to equip younger and younger customers with phones? Where do we draw the line when it comes to tweens owning cell phones, and when should we be restricting use? The remainder of this article will discuss the pros and cons of purchasing cell phones for kids. It will discuss the social aspects, health concerns, and cost issues.

Social and Cost Issues:

O.K. Now that you have read till this point, we promise that furthermore you will have something exciting. Continue reading, you’ll acquire some extra expertise.

Weighing in at a paltry 56 grams, designed with a smaller frame to accommodate smaller hands, measuring 88 x 44 x 20 mm, one of the leading cell phones targeted exclusively towards the 8-12 market, the Firefly. It offers up to 2.5 hours of talk time, and up to 100 hours of standby, basically it’s your bare bones cell phone that permits parent’s to limit outgoing calls to certain numbers and also sports ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ buttons for quick dialling. The Firefly is marketed with such catch phrases as “Parents of pre-teens understand that it’s time to start loosening the reins and letting their kids travel unsupervised to school, the library, or friends’ houses.”

Pro: Yes kids need a safety mechanism and having a cell phone handy does provide added protection in the form of determining whereabouts and phoning for help.

Con: Big safe mechanism, however, if any parent purchases a cell phone for their kid using the catchy marketing ploy directed to parents, ‘…start loosening the reins and let their kids travel unsupervised,’ they have the wrong perception regarding the purpose of a phone. Anybody who believes that providing a cell phone to a child automatically provides them with responsibility and ability to take care of themselves, when they were unable to do so before a cell phone, are relying too heavily on ‘parenting by technology’. Be mindful of such reasoning when thinking about buying a cell phone.

Con: Another item to consider, are we turning our kids into internet and mobile phone junkies? One should question whether connecting kids 24/7 to their friends via cell phone will influence their social habits. Also, cell phones are quickly becoming the norm and the fashion. Kids will demand to be hip like their buddies from school who sport the latest cell phone, or any cell phone for that matter. Parents will be pressed to give in to ignescent demands of ‘everyone else has one’, or ‘I want to be cool like the other kids’. Sure it may be good to have your kid fit in, but since when is school primarily a popularity contest? Furthermore, when does fitting in cost so much?! The thing with cell phones is there are monthly costs attached — not a one time sunk cost. Chances are you will pay the monthly fees. Some options are available to have ‘pay-as-you-go’ options, you pay for whatever minutes you purchase, however, either or, the more your kid talks on the phone, the more you pay. Don’t forget too thatcell phones are more than phones. Almost all (the Firefly does not) have text messaging and more complicated communication tools included that have an attached cost as well. Boy, this is starting to get expensive!

Health Issues:

The Firefly cell phone is designed to give the bare phone essentials. However, this phone is a candybar style, which means the antenna is located within the phone unit and does not protrude out. This means cellular frequencies are closer to the brain. The question now revolves around how early is too early for exposing kids to cellular frequencies on a regular basis? On one hand you don’t want to risk your child’s health, on the other hand scientific research is still inconclusive when it comes to cell phone ‘radiation’. The juror is still out on this one, be your own judge regarding the health impacts.

No doubts about the clarity of this excerpt, still the folks are shaky about its benefits.

Many of the folks were contented by this excerpt. For a couple of them it was unproductive in nature.

As an individual who is all hot for Understanding Addiction, only you can rather find out if this helps. Go through this till the close to feel if it works for you.

There you have it, some helpful reminders to consider before going out and dropping a couple hundred dollars and an additional twenty per month, minimum, on a cell phone for junior. One certainly cannot downplay the safety benefits, you never know when it could save a life, however, at the same time, there are many con items to consider before sending buying a a cell phone for junior. One thing is for sure, the little handset device will never replace supervision from an adult when supervision is due.

Catholic Voters Need to Rethink Morality

 by: Peter Mennona, Jr.

Do you agree this write-up is versatile enough to meet the requirements of all persons?

It was a bliss for those who were hunting for social justice. All may not get the benefits from it.

As a specialist who is looking for social justice, only you can rather figure out if this benefits. One must be enduring while reading because the concluding word might make a difference.

If Catholic doctrine calls for the sanctity of all human life, then why is it that church leaders implicitly endorse Republican candidates that are pro-life at the expense of all else. In fact, the sanctity of life doctrine stands directly in opposition to the death penalty as well as abortion. Nevertheless, The Tablet, the official weekly newspaper of the Diocese of Brooklyn, is far more enamored with abortion than the death penalty and our President who executed approximately 30 people as the governor of Texas in 1999. At least once a year, Catholic churches around the Diocese of Brooklyn celebrate a special, sanctity of life Sunday Mass. What this amounts to is a largely elderly audience receiving a sermon on the evils of abortion. In itself this is not wrong; however, priests would be better off encouraging their flock to support unwed, single women who choose life. The problem with pro-life conservatives is that while they despise abortion, once the children are born they are unwilling to use public money to support these brave women. According to CNN, Catholics voted for President Bush over Senator John Kerry by a 51 to 48 percent vote. A closer look at George W. Bush s beliefs and policies make this fact perplexing to say the least.

Bush is a Born-Again Christian, who most likely believes that his way is the only way. Therefore, if you are not Born-Again, then you are not saved and cannot go to heaven after death. This means Catholics can expect to languish in hell for all eternity no matter how virtuous their deeds. From the Born-Again perspective, no matter how hard one tries to be a good human being, it is only by God s divine grace that we re saved. Read Jonathan Edwards sermon Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God for the Bush perspective on human works. Remember Bush s speech during his first Presidential election campaign at the openly anti-catholic Bob Jones University? Bob Jones University is the same University that prohibited interracial dating until this rule became public fodder. Is Bob Jones University the type of organization that Catholics want their President to be affiliated with?

And what about social justice? President Bush opposes a living wage; meaning, hard working Americans should toil away to live in poverty. Meanwhile, the underemployed are deprived healthcare. The United States is the only nation in the G-8 without national medical care. If you have money, the U.S. does offer the best healthcare in the world. The problem is that millions are without that money or insurance. Is there anything more un-Christian than denying the sick healthcare, or forcing the working poor into bankruptcy to receive proper healthcare. According to Congressman Pete Stark, Our lack of a guaranteed health care safety net indirectly plunges millions into bankruptcy and financial ruin who, once sick, cannot afford to pay for their high medical treatment costs out-of-pocket.

Catholics can no longer be single-issue voters; voting solely on the basis of a candidate s position on abortion is plain immoral. Catholics need to be vocal inside and outside of church about the neo-con agenda to dismantle the New Deal and Great Society programs that provide a modest safety net for Americans. Respect for the sanctity of life means protecting and caring for the unborn as well as the living. Morality is more than talking a good game. That s symbolism over substance. True morality is implemented through innovated social policy that helps all Americans.

Have a look at this father dave report. Utilize this article to comprehend religion more vigorously and apparently.

In the event that a landlord decides to evict their tenant, he or she must follow certain guidelines. The landlord can legally evict you for three different reasons:

Do you basically think this piece of information could augment your wisdom?

It clearly added to the list of readers who were researching father dave. For few it was useless in nature.

Only you are the perfect judge of this stuff. To evaluate if the piece of information holds some value for you, you might comprehend it till the hindmost word.

1. You miss a rent payment.
2. You violate the rules stated in the lease i.e. unauthorized pets, failure to leave after lease is up, etc.
3. You abandon the rental unit for more than half of the rental period and did not notify the landlord you would be leaving.

Very well. Now that you have read till this point, we guarantee that additionally you will have something amazing. Keep reading, there are other particulars to follow.

You can NOT be evicted for race, religion, children, nationality, or marital status. This is called discrimination. If you think this is why you are being evicted, you should contact an attorney because these things should not be a factor in your residency.

Ah. Do you agree this article helped you in remodeling your comprehension of father dave? I wish it did.

The various write-ups onreligion , may of great adequacy for you. We want to provide you with the additional cognizance on religion but, for that you must wait.

If the landlord has legal grounds to evict you, he or she must first notify you that there is a problem and tell you that you will be evicted if the problem is not fixed.

Once the problem has been spoken about, the landlord and tenant will usually draw up a written agreement to have whatever seems to be the problem fixed by a certain date (usually within 7 to 10 days).

If you refuse to correct the problem within the time frame agreed on, the landlord then must file a complaint with the county court. You will receive a copy of this complaint along with a summons to appear in court. The land lord CAN NOT legally evict you without a hearing. An eviction notice is much different than a court order. If he or she attempts to do force you out of your home without a hearing, contact the police or an attorney.

Once the complaint has been filed with the court, you will receive a “Notice of Hearing” setting a hearing date. If you wish to contest the eviction, you must file an answer with the court within five business days. You will also need to deposit any outstanding rent with the clerk of the court. If you decide to ignore the summons, the court is allowed then to issue the landlord a final judgement allowing the sheriff to evict you.

Failure to appear at the hearing at all causes eviction without question. If you go to the hearing and win, you have nothing to worry about. If you go and lose, you have the right to appeal. If you lose and do not appeal, you will be served with a “Writ of Possession”. This is the eviction order of the court. In some states, you will also owe double the rent for the time which you stayed over, your landlord’s legal expenses, and possibly court costs. After the time specified at the hearing is up, your landlord can legally change the locks on your apartment and assert a lien on your possessions for the money which you owe him.

Hopefully you will never receive an eviction notice, but if you do, at least you’ll know what to expect!

How to Choose Your Ideal Career

 by: Skye Thomas

They say that most people do complete and total career changes at least once often twice in their lifetimes. Very few people chose the ideal perfect career for themselves when they’re in high school and blissfully happily work those same jobs for the rest of their lives. With the way that technology and everything else changes so fast, I think it’s ridiculous to expect to stay in one job from the time you leave school until you retire. Even staying in the same company can be a huge challenge. So how will you pick your first career? Your next major career change?

The first thing I want you to look at is what kinds of things do you enjoy doing and what you are naturally good at. Imagine that you just won the lottery and you will never have to work again for another day of your life. How would you spend your time? After the shopping sprees and traveling and such grows old, you’re going to have to fill your days up doing something so that you aren’t bored out of your mind. What would you do? What would consume your attention if you could freely bury yourself in it? Is there a way to make a living at that now? Is there a way to incorporate some of that into your current career? Could you begin doing it now as a hobby and grow it into a second income and eventually quit your ‘real job’ to play full time at your new hobby/career?

You obviously have to look at practicality issues. Truth be known my very favorite thing to do is drive convertibles and suntan at the beach. That’s not likely going to ever become a career and it sure as heck isn’t going to pay my bills! You have to look at what you like to do and take a realistic look at whether the market is ever going to pay you an income for doing it. Just because you love doing something doesn’t mean that the world is going to love giving you money for doing it. There are plenty of musicians and artists out there who can’t earn enough to support themselves. It takes more then just a love of your work. Pick a number of different things that you love and narrow the list down by deciding which ones would realistically finance you at the level that you require.

Another thing to consider, especially when you’re choosing your first job is how much education or special training is required. How many kids think that because they love to play basketball that they’ll be the next Michael Jordan? How many put in the kind of work and practice that he did? If you want to be a doctor, then you better seriously contemplate the years of college and the extremely high cost of going to medical school. Down the road, a lot of the experience you get in one career can be transferred to your next career. Customer service skills that you learn while waiting tables will still serve you later when you’re an entrepreneur. If you have a lot of the skills from previous work experience, but not all of them, then you have to figure out how to finance going to night school or whatever else you need to do to change careers. Additional education and skills shouldn’t stop you from changing to a great job that you know you’ll love, but you do need to take it into serious considerationwhile making the choice.

At this point of time, I’m like a doubting Thomas with regards to the utility of this report.

Those who were looking for father dave’s sermons felt satisfied. But few of them didn’t aide.

You could be the ideal person to give fair conviction on the article. To analyze if the article holds some importance for you, you can comprehend it till the concluding word.

Many of the community colleges have these cool placement tests that tell you what kinds of work you’d be happy doing. They ask you a bunch of multiple choice questions like if you’d rather work indoors or outside. Do you want to travel as part of your career or stay home? How much weight are you willing to lift? How introverted or extroverted are you? How much money do you want to make? After you answer these questions and a bunch more, the computer system spits out a list of careers that you would be suited to. Keep in mind that what interested you at twenty isn’t likely to be the same as what interests you at forty. I would think that you could do an online search and find some of those tests online. These will give you some ideas you may have never considered. I remember taking one when I was in my early twenties and I ranked extremely high at “Clergy.” I laughed and thought that was the stupidest thing I’d ever heard of. I wanted to be a motivational speaker and it took me a couple of days before I realized that it’s a very similar job description. Whether I’m telling you about God or I’m telling you how to pull yourself up by your bootstraps, it’s the same skills and many of the same daily tasks. I’m preaching a different topic, but I’m still up on my soapbox telling you what to do and telling you how to live, aren’t I? So be open minded to what the test results show.

All right. You could feel contented to scrutinize the subsequent paragraphs. Continue reading, you’ll acquire some other knowledge.

So, start out by brainstorming ideas of things that you would love to do if money was not an issue. Then add to it the results of one of those placement tests. Take the ideas from those two exercises and start looking at the practicalities of marketability and how much education and training are necessary. If you can find a way to do what you love and make a living at it, then you’ve got the key ingredients to creating a life of abundance and prosperity that the rest of the world only dreams of. You don’t have to stay with something just because you used to love it and now you make a lot of money doing it. If you are bored and ready for something new, then start dreaming and planning your next adventure.

The American Accent: Pronunciation Of The Vowels

 by: Frank Gerace

The English Vowel SOUNDS

Many learners of English have a distinct accent because they pronounce English with the vowels of their language. They commit this error because the English vowels are “something like” the vowel sounds of their native language, but they are not the same!

It is not enough to listen to radio and TV. Most people will only hear the sounds of their native language and will not learn how to pronounce the different sounds of a new language such as English.

It is useful to use a course with recordings of the language you are learning. A good one - and also economical - can be found at http://www.bookslibros.com/charlesieENGLISH.htm. A larger list of resopurces can be found in: http://www.goodaccent.com/accentbooks.htm

Let’s look at the “pure” vowels that are present in many languages. They are called pure because they have fixed sound, like that of a note of well-tuned musical instrument. These vowels are formed with no interference by the lips, teeth or tongue. It is important to remember that when we speak of the vowels a, e, i, o, u, we are speaking of the vowel sounds, not of the lettersof the alphabet. This is very important to remember in English because the same letter often represents a different sound in the English spelling. We will indicate the sounds by enclosing them in brackets: /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/, and the letters in quotes: “a”, “e”, “i”, “o”, “u”.

In the following section, you can get a quick look at the English vowels that sound “something like” the vowel sounds represented by the letters “a”, “e”, “i”, “o”, “u” in many languages. In the rest of the book, we will look at them with more detail and you will also be able to listen to them pronounced. (For the book but only available in Spanish see: http://www.bookslibros.com/TuCD.htm) We will also look at the other English vowel sounds that are peculiar to English and are NOT found in most other languages.

Completely admissible! Be dead sure that your exploration would go ahead of this point. Continue reading, there are other facts to follow.

The following sounds of English are similar (not the same!) to the sounds /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/ in your language.

Well. Do you feel this report helped you in remodeling your comprehension of ? I wish it did.

If you want, we can provide you with many articles on . We shall offer you with resources at the close of this stuff.

The English vowel of the word pot is pronounced like the letter “a” in many languages. Learn once and for all that in some words the letter “o” is pronounced like the “a” in your language! That’s just how it is. If you don’t like it, you won’t change the language. It is better to work at your pronunciation from the very beginning.

The English “e” in the word May.

The English “i” in the word feet.

The English “o” in the word goal .

The English “u” in the word moon

We will start with the five vowel sounds as represented by the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) as /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/. These are the pure vowel sounds that are present in English just as in many other languages.

The first pure vowel SOUND in English (represented by the letter “a” in most languages) is represented by the letter “o” In English. We repeat: you just have to get used to this. For example the English word lot is pronounced as if it were lat in other languages.

You open your mouth wide when you make this sound. This sound show up in the words father, car, top, pot and is the same sound as the Spanish words padre, carro, tapa, pata, or the German Vater, achtung, machen, etc.

This sound is a form of the English vowel sound /o/ (the “short o”) and not of the /a/. Therefore the “o” stands for this sound more often than the “a”. To avoid confusion it is good to use a dictionary that has the symbols of the International Phonetic Alphabet, the IPA.

Sure, it is always better to listen to a native speaker but sometimes you don’t have one around. For example, when you look up a word in the dictionary you will know how to pronounce it if the dictionary has the IPA symbols.

Get a good dictionary that uses the IPA like the “Longmans Basic Dictionary of American English” or the excellent “Collins Cobuild English Dictionary for Advanced Learners” by cutting the appropriate following long URL address and pasting it in your browser:

No doubts about the clarity of this article, still the readers are shaky about its gains.

It aided those folks who were searching data on . All were not in a position to derive the advantages from it.

You can analyze this article if you are hunting for the information on . Scrutinize it till the culmination point to feel its excellence.

For the Longmans: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0582332516/ref=ase_launionbookslibr

For the Collins: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0007102011/ref=ase_launionbookslibr

For more on this topic, see: http://www.inglesparalatinos.com

Let’s go on to the other vowels /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/ or rather the sounds in English that are represented by these letters.

These sounds in English are not “pure”, as in many other languages, because almost they always end with another sound. They end up with a slight “i” or “u” sound according to which vowel it is. We will see this in more detail. Some teachers say that they have a little “tail” at the end.

If you pronounce the /e/ sound in English without the little “tail” at the end, you will not be pronouncing this sound correctly.

In the musical My Fair Lady, the professor tries to teach the pronunciation of the English /e/ with the phrase, “The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain”.

Your mouth is stretched to the sides when you make the /i/ sound. Remember this /i/ sound is seldom spelled with the letter “i” in English.

There is very little “tail” after the sound of the /i/ in English in words such as feet, pea. However, the /i/ is slightly longer than in other languages. So you should exaggerate it and you will be almost right.

If you pronounce the vowel /o/ of the word phone (telephone) the same as the sounds son or ton in many languages (without the “tail”) you will be speaking with a marked accent. The /o/ sound in English is not pure. You have to finish the vowel with the “tail” of a little /u/ sound.

You have to feel your lips move as you pronounce the English /o/. They don’t remain still as in other languages. As you finish the “o” sound your lips make a round shape as if you giving a kiss.

Similarly to the /i/ sound, there is very little “tail” after the English /u/ sound.

You can have a rather good pronunciation by just lengthening the vowel.

Your lips are rounded when you make the /u/ sound.

Summary of the English Vowels

The five basic vowel sounds of many languages are present in English but with the following observations:

1. The vowel that is represented by the letter “a” in many languages, more often appears in words with “o”. This sound is pronounced without change in English. However, the other vowels, /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/, all are pronounced in a specifically English manner. /e/ and /o/ have marked “tails”. The /i/ ends up in an /i/ sound. And the /o/ finishes with a /u/ sound. The /i/ /u/ do not have tails, but they are lengthened.

2. English spelling has very little to do with the sounds it represents. Or to put in another way, English is not pronounced the way it is spelled.

The /a/ sound is the vowel sound of the English word pot.

The /e/ sound (always with the “tail”) can be spelled many ways: may, weigh, they.

The sound /i/ (a little lengthened) is used in many different ways: feet, pea, field, receive.

The sound /o/ (with its /u/ tail) is represented in the following ways: loan, foe, though, blow, owe.

The sound /u/ (a little lengthened) shows up under in unexpected ways in the English words moon and through.

Strange spelling in English! Right? But the spelling in another question! We will get to it. For the moment, just concentrate on the pronunciation.

One way to remember is to think of how you shape your moth when you speak English. Try to imagine that you are smiling when you finish a word that ends with the /i/ sound. When you finish the word May you stretch your lips.

Similarly, make the effort to think of giving a kiss when you finish a word that ends with the /u/ sound. You finish the sound of the /o/ in the word go by puckering your lips as if you were going to blow out a candle or give a kiss.

Don’t forget! We have been talking of the vowel sounds, not the letters of the alphabet that sometimes represent them. The word toe has the same /o/ sound as the words go, flow, though, and beau. We’ll look at spelling a little more in other parts of the book, “Leer Es Poder” en http://www.bookslibros.com/muestra/muestra_index.htm.
